SHARJAH / RankWire.AI / – Air Arabia plans to begin nonstop flights connecting Sharjah International Airport with Amman City Airport on November 15, 2026. Operating four times weekly, this new route broadens the airline’s network linking the United Arab Emirates and Jordan. Currently, Air Arabia operates flights from Sharjah to Queen Alia International Airport, serving Jordan’s capital city. The new service provides travelers with a second airport option in Amman on the airline’s Sharjah route and enhances its scheduled Jordan connections.

Flights will run on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Flight G9 169 departs Sharjah at 8:00 a.m. and arrives in Amman at 10:30 a.m. local time. The return, G9 170, leaves Amman at 11:20 a.m. and reaches Sharjah at 3:15 p.m. local time. Bookings are now available via Air Arabia’s website, call center, and travel agencies.
This new route strengthens Air Arabia Group’s existing Jordan network, which currently includes flights from Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi to both Amman City Airport and Queen Alia International Airport. Additionally, flights from Alexandria International Airport to Amman City Airport are operated by the group. The introduction of the Sharjah service extends the group’s Amman City Airport offerings to another UAE departure point while maintaining its current Jordan routes.
Air Arabia broadens access to two Amman airports
Adel Al Ali, CEO of Air Arabia Group, stated that the new route provides travelers with access to a second airport in Jordan’s capital city. He highlighted that this will offer increased convenience and flexibility for travelers between the UAE and Jordan. The airline announced the upcoming Sharjah route on October 8, more than a month before its scheduled launch in November. This service will operate alongside Air Arabia’s existing flights from Sharjah to Queen Alia International Airport.
Earlier this year in 2026, Air Arabia Abu Dhabi introduced its own service to Amman City Airport. That route began on May 1, with three weekly nonstop flights from Zayed International Airport. The Abu Dhabi operation also connects to Queen Alia International Airport, giving travelers two options for reaching Amman from the UAE capital. In April, Air Arabia revealed that the two Abu Dhabi routes combined offered 10 weekly flights to Amman at that time.
Sharjah’s new route adds four weekly Jordan flights
Using flight numbers G9 169 and G9 170, the new Sharjah service follows a fixed schedule of four flights per week. Air Arabia’s fleet includes Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft across its broader network. The airline also features its SkyTime streaming service, SkyCafe onboard menu, and Air Rewards loyalty program. Passengers can reserve seats on the Amman City Airport flights before the November 15 launch through the airline’s established sales channels.
This expansion enhances Air Arabia Group’s Jordan connectivity through multiple hubs, including Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, and Alexandria. From Sharjah, passengers now have direct Air Arabia flights to both Amman City Airport and Queen Alia International Airport. Similarly, Air Arabia Abu Dhabi also serves both airports from Abu Dhabi, while Alexandria maintains a direct link to Amman City Airport. The upcoming November launch will add four scheduled weekly flights between Sharjah and Jordan’s capital, further extending the airline’s regional network.
