The number of foreign visitors arriving in South Korea in July 2026 surpassed 2 million, maintaining a trend of travel figures remaining above pre-pandemic levels. This represents a 20.8% increase from the 1,733,199 visitors recorded in July 2025 and amounts to 144.6% of the July 2019 figure, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic disrupting global travel.

Data from the government, as reported by Emirates News Agency, confirms that Korea’s inbound tourist numbers surpassed 10 million in H1, driven by consistent double-digit growth across key regional source markets. According to figures from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, 1.99 million foreigners arrived in June alone, reflecting a 23.1 percent increase over the same month in the previous year. This robust monthly growth pushed the total for the first half of the year to 10.71 million visitors, marking a 21.3 percent rise from the 8.8 million recorded during the same period in 2025 and surpassing pre-pandemic 2019 levels by 26.9 percent.
