The Central Bank of Egypt reported that these inflows increased by 28.1% compared to about $23.2 billion from January to July 2025. The figures encompass funds sent home by Egyptians employed abroad and reflect the latest official statistics for the 2026 calendar year. This total is roughly $6.5 billion higher than the amount recorded during the same period in 2025.

In July alone, remittances reached around $4.5 billion, representing a 20% rise from approximately $3.8 billion in July 2025. This monthly figure follows earlier increases reported earlier in the year. January’s inflows stood at about $3.5 billion, up 21% from $2.9 billion a year earlier. February saw inflows of approximately $3.8 billion, a 25.7% increase from $3.0 billion in February 2025. The combined remittance amount for January and February was about $7.3 billion, contributing significantly to the total for the first seven months of 2026.
On a fiscal-year basis, remittances for 2025/2026 reached approximately $47.3 billion, a 29.6% rise from the $36.5 billion recorded in fiscal 2024/2025. In June 2026, inflows were about $4.2 billion compared to $3.6 billion in June 2025, marking a 15.6% increase. The total for the fiscal year thus rose by roughly $10.8 billion. These fiscal-year figures cover from July 2025 through June 2026, while the reported $29.7 billion total pertains to January through July 2026.
Remittance inflows maintain double-digit expansion
The Central Bank of Egypt also announced a record $41.5 billion in remittances for the calendar year 2025, reflecting a 40.5% increase over the approximately $29.6 billion sent home in 2024. This gain equates to roughly $11.9 billion in dollar terms. During the first half of fiscal 2025/2026, remittances amounted to about $22.1 billion, compared to $17.1 billion in the same period a year earlier, representing a 29.6% rise.
Remittances in December 2025 reached approximately $4.0 billion, up 24% from $3.2 billion in December 2024, setting a monthly record at that time. By January 2026, cumulative inflows for the fiscal year had climbed to $25.6 billion, a 28.4% increase from $20.0 billion. The total rose further to around $29.4 billion by February, compared to $23.0 billion during the same month last year, reflecting a 28% growth over an eight-month fiscal period.
Official figures indicate consistent growth across reporting periods
The upward trend persisted into the spring months. Remittances from July through March of fiscal 2025/2026 reached roughly $34.9 billion, a 32% increase from $26.4 billion. By April, the cumulative total for ten months had risen to about $39.2 billion, which is 33.2% higher than the $29.4 billion recorded the previous year. April alone generated about $4.3 billion, a 44% increase from $3.0 billion in April 2025, with the monthly growth adding approximately $1.3 billion in absolute terms.
As of May, remittance inflows for the fiscal year had reached approximately $43.1 billion, marking a 31.2% increase from $32.8 billion in the same period last year. May’s inflows were around $3.9 billion, reflecting a 13.5% rise from roughly $3.4 billion a year earlier. The total for 11 months exceeded the previous year’s figure by about $10.3 billion. The fiscal year concluded at $47.3 billion before July brought the calendar year total to $29.7 billion. Throughout the latest official reports, both cumulative and monthly figures continued to surpass their figures from the previous year.
