During HUAWEI CONNECT 2026, Huawei held the 2026 Global Electric Power Summit under the title ” AI × Energy: Unlocking a New Power System.” More than 600 representatives from global power companies, industry organizations, ecosystem partners, and media gathered to explore new pathways for integrating energy transition with digital and intelligent technologies. At the summit, Huawei, together with the global power companies, also unveiled six power showcases, demonstrating end-to-end digital and intelligent transformation practices, from power generation to consumption, and from domestic to international markets.

Global electric vehicle sales rose 9% year on year in July 2026 to 1.85 million units. Among key markets, Europe saw the most significant expansion in July. Sales of electric vehicles in the region surged 33% from the previous year to approximately 450,000 units. During the first seven months of 2026, European EV sales grew by 28%. Spain also launched its Auto+ electric vehicle subsidy program on Aug. 4, offering up to 4,500 euros toward qualifying new electric passenger cars.
